Education

2022-2024

Certificate in Spiritual Direction

Oasis Ministries

I studied with other spiritual guides and companions as I learned the practice of spiritual direction. I learned how to lean into God's Spirit and trust God's guidance as I listen deeply to individuals in a contemplative space.

2012-2018

PhD in Practical Theology: Education and Formation
Princeton Theological Seminary

I focused on spirituality and faith formation in my degree. My dissertation explored faith in the transition to parenthood. I also taught a course on prayer in the household, considering embodied, active, and relational models of prayer. I was the teaching assistant for courses in spiritual direction.

2006-2009

M.Div.
Princeton Theological Seminary

I found that I enjoyed faith formation classes, and I received a Jagow award in preaching my middler year. I was also introduced to spiritual direction and took two courses to learn more.

2002-2006

B.A. Writing and History
Indiana Wesleyan University

I double-majored in writing and history because I enjoyed writing historical fiction, but then I began taking theology classes in my last two years and enjoyed learning more about my faith. I graduated as one of three Valedictorians and moved on to pursue a seminary degree.
